RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) announces the recipients of scholarships during a special ceremony held on Thursday, August 10, the second scholarship ceremony for this year.
At this special occasion, 18 new students (freshmen) have been awarded with scholarships for academic year 2017/18. With this, RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) assures its new students as well as potential ones that educational goals are attainable and realistic at our institution, regardless of your family financial standing.
RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) has been actively engaged in bringing about partnerships with local businesses with special focus on CSR and consequently offering more scholarship opportunities for current and future students. As a result of these efforts, this year, Meridian Express in cooperation with RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) have founded the “Meridian Express Scholarship” which will cover the tuition for one student in full, for 4 consecutive years. This year, the scholarship was awarded to Aurora Kingji, a recent high school graduate from Peja, to whom we wish the best of luck in her studies and career goals.
Agon Gashi, the CEO of Meridian Express expressed his company’s and personal commitment to support Kosovo’s educational system, while acknowledging and congratulating RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) for a fair and transparent selection process.
Dr. Sharon Hart, President of RIT Kosovo (A.U.K), has addressed the audience with words of encouragement and support. Besides, she provided them with important information, such as figures and percentages that reflect with this institution is about. She emphasized that RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) has an approximate of 94-95% employment rate after graduation, where 35% of them earn a monthly salary of 1,000 EUR and above. Additionally, 50% of our graduates finish their master studies, which shows that our students are doing excellent in their fields of interest, she noted.
On another note, Dr. Hart also presented the audience with some of the strategic plans and the advancement in the quality of education RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) will offer. Subsequently, with the new agenda, the students will be able to engage themselves in exchange programs abroad, to include but not limited to co-op opportunities in other countries. Additionally, the students will be able to choose among different concentration programs, the recent being the Web & Mobile Computing (IT) concentration – a highly demanded field in the local and global market.
So far, more than 60 freshmen students have been awarded with scholarships from the Freshmen Scholarship Program, where more than 156,870€ has been distributed thanks to the generous support from the AUK Foundation and other donors.
