Cosentino holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in Philosophy and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography/Imaging Arts from RIT.
With a diverse curriculum vitae Cosentino's work experience ranges from individual exhibition work to cooperation with designers, artists, and choreographers as well as architects and urban planners. His work experience includes exhibition preparation at the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film, Adjunct Professor of Art at the University of Rochester, Department of Art and Art History and at the Rochester Institute of Technology, College of Liberal Arts. He has worked closely with Architects, Urban Planners, Designers and citizens at the Rochester Regional Community Design Center serving as a design consultant, creating and assisting with programming, presentation and design of visual communication, products, publications and gallery development. During his tenure there the RRCDC received two consecutive awards from the National Endowment for the Arts for Design Excellence.
Cosentino draws upon his interest in Philosophy in making artworks that incorporate performance, sculpture, video, design and digital imaging. Working with the tension between double meanings that are accentuated by his medium, Cosentino’s work activates parallel processes between performance, recorded performance, picture making and sculpture while also including references to antiquity and historic iconography.
