RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) students not affected by KAA non renewal of membership in ENQA

RITK Graduation CeremonyDear Students and Alumni,
As you might have seen on the news last week, The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education has discontinued the membership of Kosovo Accreditation Agency following accusations of political interference and unprofessional conduct, endangering the recognition of Kosovo diplomas abroad. This action may affect mobility of many students that are pursuing their education in Kosovo.

Although RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) operates in Kosovo and is fully accredited by KAA, the non-renewal of KAA membership in ENAQ does not affect our students or graduates. RIT Kosovo (A.U.K), through RIT, is accredited by Middle State Commission of Higher Education (MSCHE) in USA. Commission on Higher Education is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation. MSCHE is also recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) to accredit degree-granting institutions which offer one or more post-secondary educational programs of at least one academic year in length in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and other geographic areas in which the Commission conducts accrediting activities. For more, visit: https://www.msche.org/institution/0372/ (RIT Kosovo is listed under the locations of Accreditation).

MSCHE is recognized globally. This empower the graduate of RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) international mobility. Students graduated or those that are currently enrolled in programs offered by RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) will not experience any difficulty and their degrees are recognized globally.

As a learning community of faculty, staff and students who are committed to core values of scholarship, integrity, service, and civility, we will be working with the Kosovo Accreditation Agency and other higher education stakeholders to further increase the quality of the education delivered in Kosovo to ensure that Kosovo institutions will meet all the requirements to join the ENQA again.
Sincerely,

Dr. Kamal Shahrabi
Interim President and Dean of Faculty
RIT Kosovo (A.U.K)
