RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) is pleased to announce the establishment of “Shita Family Scholarship - in memory of Vehap Shita”. The scholarship fund was made possible thanks to the generosity of RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) board member, Mr. Ardi Shita, and his family.
With a generous pledge gift of 25.000 Euro to be distributed to one freshman student over the next four years, Mr. Shita is proud to support the next success story at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K). “My family and I are extremely happy that we have the opportunity to establish this scholarship fund in memory of my late grandfather, Vehap Shita, a critic, a writer and a lifelong journalist. I am proud to keep my grandfather’s memory and legacy alive and to promote the growth and development of higher education in Kosovo. My family and I are committed to supporting higher education and we look forward to helping our community and Kosovo in the long term” - said Mr. Shita.
Upon signing the Memorandum of Understanding, Dr. Kamal Shahrabi, President and Dean of Faculty at RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) thanked Mr. Shita and his family for their generous contribution by stating: “Mr. Shita, I would like to personally take this opportunity to thank you for your volunteer service to our Board and for your incredible support and belief in our institution. Your commitment strengthens our capacity to educate intelligent young students, educate future leaders and improve the higher education access in Kosovo and beyond in the long term”.
This year, the unprecedented global health crisis has left many of RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) students in a completely new situation and has decimated their ability to enroll and continue with studies. “Mr. Shita, your support comes at a right time and will address the immediate pressing student support needs. “Again, we thank you and your family for giving our students hope and the strength to make as all proud on day”, said Dr. Shahrabi.
