In the 2010/11 academic year the RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) faculty designed an RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) specific Honors Society Program that recognizes the most outstanding set of students from RIT Kosovo (A.U.K).
The first RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) Honors Society cohort (Class of 2012) involved 11 students with a GPA of 3.8 or higher. This year’s Honors Society cohort was required to complete a 9 month long Honors Project which included a proposal submission, an investigation, a completion of all analysis, writing of a Final Honors Report, and a formal presentation. Projects of 11 RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) most outstanding students touched upon diverse topics such as “Inconsistencies in Tax Legislation in Kosovo”, “Marketing in the Fruit Sector and Promoting Exports”, “Public Expenditure and Poverty Reduction in Kosovo”, and “Cross Country Comparative Analysis of Health Care Financing.” These RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) Honors Projects will take a special place of pride in the RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) Library at the end of each academic year.
So many of our students recognize the importance of the experience gained from planning and working on projects, so much so, that there has been a strong demand for the RIT One-Quarter Capstone projects (10 week long individual projects) for in the Spring Quarter 2013. It is anticipated that in the new semester system all our of regular students will be required to take the RIT One-Quarter Capstone project course with our RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) Honors Society students being required to complete the 9 month Honors project. All of these senior year projects, both Honors Society projects and the One-Quarter Capstone projects require an individual weekly appointment for the student with a faculty supervisor. This specialized individual attention, being given to students, is how RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) is continuing to build up its’ reputation for providing the best quality higher education in Kosovo and the region.
