|Dear RIT Staff,|
I want you to know that the hard work and commitment from every one of you has the utmost respect of the campus administration and the entire RIT community. You are the backbone of the university, so your efforts are especially important now as we work to prepare for and arrest the Coronavirus. In these challenging times, we wish to say thank you.
We appreciate all you have done for our students and their families, and the work already completed to ready our community for what lies ahead. Many of you have performed your admirable work while facing increasing challenges on the home front. We are grateful for all that each of you will do over the coming weeks and months. There is no doubt that when this trying time ends, RIT will come out stronger than ever -- a community redefined and energized as one.
RIT is committed to the safety of our students, faculty, and staff as we navigate the escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic. We, therefore, have accelerated our efforts to create more social distancing throughout the campus by broadening the ability for staff members to work from home. Staff members will continue to receive details from their supervisors/leaders regarding this direction. We recognize that not every position will have this flexibility, but, as we substantially reduce the number of people on campus, we also are increasing the social distancing for those who continue to work on site.
We thank you for all you do and for your patience, support, and leadership as we chart our course through this dynamic environment. We will continue to monitor and follow local, state, and national public health guidance, and we will provide regular updates to the campus community regarding any future changes.
