Dear RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) community:
In the midst of these problematic and ambiguous times, we hope this message finds you and your loved ones staying healthy. The disturbances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are global and have spared none of us. Without question, this has been a time like no other in the history of our school and of our country. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted every element of our society and challenged all of us in many ways. As we continue to navigate this unmatched time, I want to thank many of you for relying on playing important roles in helping your communities. I remain confident, however, that we will meet the challenges ahead of us.
As you know we have responded expeditiously and proactively to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our community members. Driven first and foremost by concern for the well-being of students, faculty, and staff, we are adapting our operations and making difficult decisions in real time. We have moved classes online and operation of all services to an alternative mode of delivery. We have postponed all university and alumni events, cancelled all gatherings, provided safety equipment to our campus security staff, and disinfected our campus facility. RIT Kosovo (A.U.K) will continue delivery of all credit granting and professional education courses online until further notice. We will continue delivery of all the services such as advising, tutoring, and all other daily activities of the university online. Gatherings of any size for any reason remain canceled and all of us continue to be directed to practice social distancing — by staying home and keeping two meters of space from others when in public. We continue to practice the local and global health officials’ recommendations to ensure the proper protocols are in place so as to establish an environment of utmost safety to ensure the health and safety of our most important stakeholders—our students.
In this challenging time, it is gratifying to see our RIT Kosovo community support each other as we adjust to the new normal. For our students, I encourage you to stay focused on your studies, remain connected to your classmates, instructors, advisers and the rest of the RIT Kosovo community. There inevitably will be times when things do not go exactly as they should, but know that you are not alone. Faculty/staff at RIT Kosovo will continue to work as usual to address the individual needs of each and every one of you. Please do not hesitate to assist, if you are in a position to help your fellow classmate or any member of our community who are experiencing coronavirus-related difficulty and hardship.
Having made the transition to an alternative mode of delivery, we would like to hear from students and all faculty/staff about your academic experience in your respective courses.
Please use this link to access the survey: Student and staff experience assessment questionnaire
Your feedback will enable us to identify and quickly address concerns in the transition to an online platform. We hope you will take the time to complete them.

Finally, I have no doubt that we will emerge from this challenge more resourceful and more resilient. I look forward to the time when students and faculty can safely return to their classrooms, staff are able to return their offices, and we are able to see our friends. The next few weeks will continue to be challenging.
I could not be more grateful for the way you have responded. It is truly an honor to serve as your Interim president and dean of faculty.
Stay strong, safe, and healthy.
Dr. Kamal Shahrabi
Interim President and Dean of Facutly
